Book Review: Forgotten Treasures by D. Hart

FORGOTTEN TREASURES
by D. Hart
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance

In the aftermath of destruction, hearts were destroyed, strengths were stripped, and vulnerabilities were exposed.

A community was ripped apart after a tragic accident, and the loss hit one family particularly hard as it claimed the lives of three, leaving only one surviving member to pick up the pieces and move forward.

Baylor’s life was wiped clean in the blink of an eye. No family, no home, no name. That is, until she met Brandt. He took a chance, giving her hope and a reason to start over. A reason to rebuild a life full of forgotten memories. A reason to trust. A reason to love.

Finding love in all the right places should be easy, but when truths are revealed, it's anything but. Brandt will help her rediscover the true meaning of unconditional eternal love that will prove painful, life altering, and redeeming.

Together, they will try to face the future and will use each other’s strengths to learn how to live again. Can they rewrite history, or in the end, will the tragedies of their pasts be too much?

" I need you," he whispered painfully. This was more than desire. This was deeper than a first kiss. This was something else. Something I wanted, but something I knew I couldn't do.

This book was written so beautifully that it made my heart ache. This story touched every inch of my heart and soul leaving little footprints behind. So many feelings while reading that I could feel it in every fiber of my body. I could feel the characters emotions whether it was loss, hope, grief, angst, or love  - I was there with them and it made this book a beautiful, touching story.

The story starts in the present when a young woman wakes up from a month long coma having lost her memory and much more. It continues with the present while the main heroine encounters flashbacks via feelings. She feels lost because no one is looking for her, no one is there to help her when she gets released from the hospital... no one she remembers that is. Luckily one of the volunteers offers her to come with him until she figures out who she is. This special someone is Grady, the brother of Brandt, a very very important person in Baylor's life....

"Every moment has to mean something with you. Only you, Bay. You are my epic love story."

"You're the reason I breathe. You're my purpose. You're mine until death do us part."

Talk about an epic love in this book. I swear I want to find such love, such undying, devoted love as these two had. What I loved is that I could read how two people meant for each other found a way back to another. A love so strong that despite having lost everything it still recognizes its soul-mate. But it's also a book about friendship that goes beyond anything and anyone.

The way the plot is set up was just great; it was kinda backwards with me figuring out who Bay is and what purpose those two men have in her life. Then when we get to read her/their past my heart really ached - gosh what a traumatic event. Something I never ever wish upon anyone. No wonder she lost her memory, no wonder she was an empty shell after everything. Dani did a fantastic job capturing the characters agony while not revealing the whole story;  it was as peeling layer after layer off to get to the bottom of the story.

And then when I knew everything I couldn't believe how strong all three characters have been. Their bond goes beyond anything and I loved it.

"I love you. With everything my body has to give inside and out. I'm yours forever."

"There. Look. A shooting star. Make a wish."
- "It already came true"

If you're looking for a heartfelt love story, which will consume your heart and mind, with characters so lovable that you can't but feel for and with them, a story with  a deserved HEA then this book is for you! If you're looking for a steamy romance with leading alphas then nope, don't. This book will make you think, reflect about life, loss, and love but will also make you in the end very happy because you feel their love pour off the pages. Their story will mentally exhaust you but it's worth it :)

If I had a man like Brandt in my life I'd be the happiest woman on earth. Dani created a memorable love story that will stay with you for a very long time! #CurrentTopRecommendation
