LOVE, IN SPANISH - Book Review. I felt his love, page by page

Love, in Spanish (A Love, in English sequel)
by Karina Halle
Genre: NA Contemporary Romance

Successful, wealthy and absurdly handsome – Spanish ex-football player Mateo Casalles seemed like he had it all. A high-society wife, an adorable little girl, and flashy apartments in Madrid and Barcelona only sweetened the deal. But there was more to Mateo than met the eye – a life of uncertainty and regret that colored his black and white world.

That was until Vera Miles came into his life like a shooting star. Tattooed, wild and young, Vera seemed like Mateo’s polar opposite at first. But you can’t choose who you fall in love with and the two lost souls did everything they could to be together, all while suffering the grave consequences.

Now with Mateo divorced and living in Madrid with Vera, there is a whole new set of challenges and setbacks facing the couple and rocking the foundation of their star-crossed relationship.

Unfortunately for them, the brighter the star, the faster they burn.

"Our journey has never been easy. The only thing easy in all of this is my love for her.
It is pure, it is simple, and it is true."

With Love, in Spanish Karina Halle wrote a beautiful, deeply heart-wrenching conclusion to Vera and Mateo's love story.  I could feel Mateo's love pouring out of the pages; I could taste his happiness, sorrow, and devoted love while reading LiS - it wasn't easy but it was worth it. His love shone like a like star through the dark phases they had to encounter.

LiS picks up with Vera living already a year with Mateo in Spain - a happy love-sick couple facing the daily struggle after Mateo's divorce went through. But  Madrid didn't give them a break. All eyes were on Vera and Mateo's every move, especially now when Mateo should couch Madrid's soccer team. They had it tough and when they thought it couldn't get worse karma hit them again.

Mateo and Vera's life fell apart for a second time ... it seemed that all odds were against them .... their life was about to make a 180 again...

"I follow every part of you, everywhere. You go before me, Vera.
You always will."

"I am not used to being a man without a solution. When I fell in love with Vera, the solution was clear. I had to leave Isabel. It wasn't easy, but it was clear. Now, I have no solution and nothing is clear."

Oh Mateo how my heart broke for you and Vera.
What would you do if everyone and everything is against you and your love? You fight, yes, but sometimes you feel defeated because no matter how much you proof the world wrong it finds a way to mess with your right; it makes you doubt everything you thought was the right way to do. Mateo felt helpless for a second time.

"I can't lose you, I won't."
You won't.
"Then let me try."

"All at once I know I'm going to lose Vera.
It feels like I might lose the sun from the sky."

Oh my, this book clawed itself to my heart and soul and wouldn't let go until I was done; it made me feel so many emotions: love, fear, hopeless, sadness, hope, and so many more. I devoured this book - page after page. Reading Mateo's pov made me fall in love with him all over again. Karina perfectly captured a man's love, word by word, thought after thought, action after action. The only thing we, the readers, could do was keep on reading to finally find out if they get their deserved HEA.

With her Love, in English series, Halle showed us that she's not only a fascinating and very talented author when it comes to suspense, supernatural or action-packed books, no. She also excels in writing heart-wrenching, beautiful, authentic love stories that are so emotionally packed with everything  a true romance-lover is looking for in a book. Therefore, Love, in Spanish -just like LiE -  earned itself a place on my all time favorite shelf. This is a love story which you can pick up years later and still feel the same emotional roller coaster as the very first time.
"And now I have to say goodbye to the most real thing I've ever experienced, the true love of my life."

Ps: Don't worry, there's a toe-curling HEA waiting of you, which will make you squeal out loud, melt and warm your heart, and puts a BIG smile on your face!!!!
*** this series is one of my go-to recommendations!! ***
