Book Review: Veiled Innocence by Ella Frank

Veiled Innocence
by Ella Frank
Genre: Erotica Contemporary Romance -standalone

Tick, tick, tock

That’s all I have now.
A small room, a photograph, and time.
They want me to trust them and confess my sins.
They told me they wouldn't judge me—they lied.

I thought we could convince the world that this wasn't a crime.
We were wrong.
Time doesn't stand still.
The clock keeps ticking, the world is unconvinced, and now…
Now he is gone.

Tempting, Forbidden, ...and very hot!

This book put my panties on fire!! It was extremely sinful, tempting, arousing, intriguing and very much forbidden -so different than other teacher-student books out there. I loved every page of it and couldn't wait to find out how this story ends. This is the first Ella Frank book for me but I can say it won't be my last!

The heroine of the book, Addison, isn't your typical female character. Yes she's a pretty hot 18 year old, but she's also quirky (has a tick to count: One, two, three ... and always needs to be on time), is pretty full of herself and aware of her desirable body, not too shy to go after what she wants....and what she wants now is Mr. McKendrick.. You might think, "What a bitch..." and yeah you're right, but Addison has her reasons for the way she is, acts, and thinks.

"Flirting to me was like breathing to everyone else, and I always made sure I had their attention when I put on a show. ... I their role model, their person to admire - and to hate."

"Everyone, including the teachers, knew me, and everyone loved me."

Sounds like a total bitch, right? Well, kind of but as I said, she has her reason. Reasons that lie hidden deep inside; reasons that turned Addison's life around -a full 180 - in a blink of an eye. So you got it, everyone loves or either hates her, well except...

"...the man standing at the front of my world history class. He definitely did not love me, but I'd always liked a challenge. It was in my nature to win."

Grayson McKendrick is your typical hot 32 year old history teacher with brown sun-kissed hair, tight back to a messy ponytail... yeah not really. I mean, hot teachers are rare and therefore, I get it why Addison wanted him -I'd have too.

What started out as curiosity, became a crush...a crush became quickly lust and desire...until the full-blown need announced her presence. Their slow building relationship was like the tight approaching. You know it was coming but you couldn't, wouldn't do a damn thing about it as to stand there, watching as it comes closer and closer.

And Grayson knew it right there and then, when first spotting Addison, looking at him with her blue eyes and sinful full lips....

"I looked at her - she looked at me. My ending, staring right at me from the very beginning."

He knew there's more to Addison than meets the eye. He was tempted by every move she made -something that shouldn't be. Something that can not be...but he was helpless. Fighting was useless. He couldn't seem to keep his eyes off her; and she was fully aware of it as if she could sense his desire, lust, and want. The same she felt towards him.

"So there I sat, trying to work out what it was that was making her impossible to ignore and then she glanced up, and I knew."
It was those eyes. They held secrets they shouldn't have."

"She was everything I couldn't have and shouldn't want, but the more she taunted, the more my resolve crumbled."

I can honestly say that Ella Frank put the typical student-teacher story on a whole different level. I was mesmerized by the story and its characters. What was really great (and different) was that the book is in dual pov and set in present & past events. I love to get into a characters mind and the dual pov, especially Grayson's was written brilliantly. The story starts in the present and you think, "What the heck, where is she....what happened" and that's exactly how Ella hooks you. You want and need to find out how there story started, and how it ends. It's not at all confusing and you'll see, the jumping back and forth between present and past events, you feel your anticipation growing and growing until you want to combust!!

The sexual tension was so thick that I was worried my kindle fogs up. I had to stop reading several times. Not only were their actions extremely sinful and laced with need; no, their thoughts and words screamed intensity, want, need, desire, and MINE!. - "I'll teach you how to come with a man inside you. Not a boy, Addison, a man." *sighs

This book is now one of my favorite reads, ever, and I will go and check out more books of Ella Frank. Her writing is captivating and very much to my liking. I highly recommend it - you be disappointed.

"I'm not allowed to have what I want. I can't have the prince...because I am the unimaginable. I'm the catalyst in the destruction of my own happy ending. If only someone had warned the prince." ~Addison

"We always have a choice. The real decision is -do we pick right, or do we pick wrong? or do we float around in the grey area."
