Review: Reasonable Doubt 2 by Whitney G.

Reasonable Doubt, Vol. 2
by Whitney G
Genre: Erotic/ Contemporary Romance

 She lied to me...
She betrayed the one rule that I'm most adamant about: Honesty. Complete and utter fucking honesty .

I really wish she was someone else—someone who didn't have the ability to make me feel, someone I could easily discard like the hundreds of women before her.

She isn't.

I'm drawn to her like I've never been drawn to a woman before—completely captivated by the very sight of her. But unfortunately, with my past slowly re-surfacing for all of the world to see, I'll have to find a way to let her go.

She can never be mine.

This was brilliant... Andrew was *sighs* sex on legs. Whitney delivered what she promised us: a hot continuous story, giving us glimpses into 'Andrew's' past and the mysterious ex-wife, while being torn between his emotions to Aubrey. The story takes off where volume 1 ended - Aubrey pouring hotcoffee in his lap, informing him that his wife is waiting in the office wanting to see him.

The mysterious ex wife, Ava, has all intentions to crush his well-build bubble Andrew is living in. "Are you going to shake my hand, Mr. Hamilton?.... That is the name you're going by these days, isn't it?" She's literally inflicting pain to Andrew's protected heart. He can't deal with the fact that she's standing in front of him with all attention on ruining him -in every way possible.

Despite the up-building storm his ex causes, he can't seem to stay away, no, he doesn't want to stay away from Aubrey no matter how much he tries to convince himself that it's just sex...just another pussy. But Aubrey is having none of it; after the office accident she leaves the firm and is MIA for 4 days straight. After her ballet performance, trying to drink Andrew and this whole dilemma away in the adjoining bar when she spots Andrew with another date - Ms. Double D. Aubrey, the little firecracker she's, texts him right away what an ass he is and how she regrets every little thing about him. Well, let me just say Andrew did show her how he thinks about this whole situation and her statements. He tried to sleep with other women in the last 4 days while she was absent at work but couldn't. Because he couldn't stop thinking about her.
"I've never lied to you, Aubrey. .... I know how it is hard for you to tell the truth, so I need you to be completely honest when I ask you these next questions. Can you do that? ..."
"You don't enjoy fucking me?"
"Are you really resigning?" He kissed me. ...
"You haven't missed fucking me?"
"I've missed f***king you, ..." he rasped.
Let me just say this scene was extremely hot and I might have highlighted every freaking line and I was literally drooling on my kindle! Yeah don't judge. Of course Andrew knows how Aubrey is trying to give him a hard time but she crumbles under the sexual tension; his touches; his kisses, and his whispered words. She literally screams out the YES how right he is...

But she also doesn't want to give up on the fact that Andrew is a closed book; she researches for him and comes up blank. Nothing under his name or law school. It's like he doesn't exist -she might be right, especially under this current name. Right when she thinks they have established something like a relationship, opening up a lil bit he kicks her out...

Oh wait, he kicks her out after his frigging ex shows up at his place -again!! He lost it then -all negative emotions of betrayal coming to the surface which led to kicking Aubrey out of his apartment.
I was yelling at my kindle because wth was that Andrew, you can't do that. First you run after her, cornering her in a bathroom, devouring her body over and over again. Taking her home and cherishing her body close to yours and then THIS!! No no mister, not cool. But ugh!! I understand him; his pain lays deep.

We get a glimpse about his pain at the beginning and end of the book via back flashes and I felt my heart hurt for him. I don't know what this ex did to him (ok not everything) but I assume what we get to see in the book was just the tip of the iceberg. Whitney wrote a brilliant erotic book of its finest, with a great amount of drama, angst and a lot of steam.

This story went smoothly down my throat like a good brandy - burning me but also making me wanting to devour more of it -more Andrew. I loved Andrew and Whitney did an excellent job writing his pov, capturing his inner struggle to give in to his desires. I loved, like really loved this novella! If I could I would bribe Whitney to transform this series into full-length novels -that's how much I love her characters! If you haven't start this series, met this extremely cocky, handsome, one in a kind Andrew effing Hamilton then what are you waiting for??? Jump on the 'We love Andrew' train now ;)
