REVIEW: Used & Confused by Kate Lynne

Used (Getting Inside of V, #1)
by Kate Lynne

The name's V. I'm beautiful in every sense of the word physically. But on the inside, I'm a black pit.
If you're expecting a happily ever after, a white picket fence and 2.5 kids; then this isn't the story for you.
There aren't any happily ever afters in the works for me or those whose lives I poison.
I hold the key to my pleasure and I'll be damned if I ever give it up again.
God forsake those that stand in my way of ultimate gratification.
You may regret me, but you'll never forget me.
Use or Be Used, there are no other options.

5 'Holy F@ck What Did I just Read' Stars

I got gifted a copy by the author and never ever would I've expected such loaded 50 something pages!! I'm still confused; wth did I just read. I mean you'd think '50pages, how can they rock' but let me tell you, they did rock and shocked me in a really strange way. I was hooked from page one!!

The author's way of writing put me in a position as if V personally would sit in front of me, with a cup of coffee in her hands, telling me very calmy her messed up fairy tale. V is some twisted chick and I can't say I don't want to read more, because oh boy, I so want to read more. I wish this book would have been a whole novel. It's really hard to sum this book up, without spoiling things in it, but Kate Lynne gives you some necessarry flashbacks that you understand why V is so batshit crazy!

Let me intruduce you V ....

"For all the intents and purposes, let's just call me V. I'm twenty-two year of age, ... I've been there, done that, won the piece of shit award and put it in a box with the rest of my dirty laundry... I looke like an angel, but I'm built for sin. And I sin, oh how I sin. ... I'm beautiful on the outside and a dark pit on the inside. ..."

But nope, V wasn't always like that ... life just f@cked her over big times and like a switch there was no going back anymore.

V used to be this sweet innocent girl that despite losing everything she loved, she survived and she did live again. Until she gave her heart away with sweet 18, just to get rewarded by getting it shredded into millions of pieces.

"He knew what he meant to me. He fixed me. He took away all of the hurt." ... until this very day, then she shredded his heart.

After that, there was no sweet V anymore, this girl was literally dead. She never stays in one place too long and destroys the ones that cross her path.

"I'm just a broken girl who's f@cking the world like it has f@cked me." ~V

Don't expect a prologue or epilogue because there is really none. Those 50 something pages may seem to be ripped out right from the middle of a story, and yes, I agree but it still felt whole to me. I was seriously craving for more. I want to read more of V and want to know who is He, he who watches her; I want to know who else will suffer from her poison, whose lives she rips apart with one BANG.

"Be happy that your mind isn't as twisted as mine. The name's V. Remember me. This isn't the end. Baby, this is only the beginning."

Confused (Getting Inside of V, #2)
by Kate Lynne

You didn't honestly think you could get rid of me just yet, did you?
New town, new faces and by far my biggest conquest yet. I will have him. There is no doubt in my mind.
His name rolls right off my tongue and drips deep down to my core.
Tall, dark and undeniably handsome.
Seducing is the name of the game, but he’s not falling for it…Yet!
Of course that doesn't deter me. You should know me better by now.
The only thing left to do is up the ante’. My cold, dead heart at the center of the prize table, up for grabs to my next victim.
Until it suddenly starts to beat again.
Don't panic, I know I'm not. Temporary malfunction, that's all! Nothing more, nothing less.
My heart must be confused. Simply. Fucking. Confused.

4.5 ★

”New town, new places to see and most importantly, new faces.”

Yes V is back and this time she’s conquering Miami, Florida. He is there too; so close that V is determined to make him his. Play with him, seduce him that he’s sorry that he laid eyes on her… he’s following and playing games with her, but two can play this game.

You don’t know who He is? Mr Green Eyed hottie? Ok I’ll tell you: Detective Breccan Grant. The one and only. The one that follows her around, staying in the shadows, watching V’s every step.

”I’m pretty positive he’s the only one hot on my trail. …”

But V has a plan… a plan to attack. Attack him by using her charm and curves to seduce him. BUT Breccan isn’t so easy to crack and V realizes that after 2 unsuccessful dates she hasn’t come closer to her goal. V was about to snap ‘cause her plan didn’t work…yet

”I need to be fucked by Breccan and that was the end of it.”

Along the way, V feels something… a feeling she tried to burry deep down because”numbness has become (her) reality.”

V encounters some internal struggle because she soon finds out that Breccan has his very own agenda… nothing she’d have ever expected… but something that would turn her live upside down.
How could she end him now?

”I think if nothing else, those eyes I will forever remember”

V is still this beautiful young woman with a sick, twisted mind. Confused starts off with a BAM and ends with a BAM!! Yep she’s somewhat a mental case, and yep I don’t want to meet her in a club – LIKE NEVER EVER- but in Confused we have found aweakness. Something she locked up deep inside and threw the key away for it…. Until he came along and put everything he had, including his life, on one chance.

Will she be able to seduce him? Kill him (too)? Well, read for yourself.

Kate Lynne wrote another short story that just made me crave for more. I enjoyed those 56pages and again, V was everything I hoped she’d be. I can’t get enough of this twisted chick. I highly advise to read book one, Used, to know who V is and what’s her deal is – you won’t be disappointed!!
